Irene is a registered nurse with more than 35 years' experience in the profession. She has been teaching in the BScN program at MacEwan University since 2006. She is passionate about improving the lives of seniors no matter where they live. She has taught nursing and promoted seniors' care in countries such as Australia, Nepal, Indonesia and Hong Kong. In 2005, she co-wrote and co-edited the book Contemporary Issues in Gerontology: Promoting Positive Ageing, which won the Australasian Book Prize Award in the field of aging.
