Originally from Vancouver Island, Carla Genereux moved to Edmonton in 1999. Graduating from the University of Alberta in 2001 with a BScN, Carla began a career in nursing that would include burns and plastics, orthopedics and ambulatory services. During her many years as an orthopedic nurse, her interest in working and advocating for seniors developed and eventually led to her current role. As an elder friendly care co-ordinator, Carla works toward enhancing nursing care that will help to prevent functional decline, decrease complication rates and improve overall outcomes for seniors in the acute hospital setting.
